The Louisiana Lottery has been notified by the Baton Rouge attorney of the apparent $85.7 million Powerball jackpot winner from the July 31 drawing that he plans to claim the prize via a Power of Attorney on behalf of an 11-member family partnership this morning.
The partnership members will not be present at the event. However, the attorney has indicated he is willing to answer questions from the media.
The winning ticket was sold at the Circle K #1905 at 9110 Airline Hwy. in Baton Rouge. The annuity prize amount is valued at an estimated $85.7 million, which would be paid in 30 graduated installments. Jackpot winners also have the option of taking the prize as a lump sum payment, equal to the cash value of the jackpot, which is $45,770,486.
