Lafayette man charged with aggravated rape of child

A Lafayette man is charged with aggravated rape after he allegedly had sexual contact with a child under the age of 10. According to police, a witness caught 59-year-old Darrell Nystrom in the act and reported him. Investigators say the victim told them Nystrom had been committing these acts for several years. Police are still investigating the incident.

Cajun comedian Dave Petitjean dies at age 85

One of Acadiana's best-known comedians has died. Dave Petitjean passed away in his sleep Sunday night at the age of 85. Petitjean performed all across the Gulf South for more than 50 years.
