Victim Listed in Stable Condition Following Gas Plant Explosion

The fire at CDM Max LLC is under control following an explosion at the natural gas plant this afternoon. State Police are now allowing the fire to burn itself out. One man suffered burns to his upper body and is listed in stable condition after being airlifted out. The State Police Haz Mat team is trying to figure out what exactly caused the fire. There was an evacuation of residents with a one-mile area surrounding the plant, but that was quickly lifted. A spokesperson with the company told us "we have experienced a fire at the Basile Gas Processing Plant. We know that one employee was injured and taken to the hospital and emergency responders are on site."

The one mile evacuation has been lifted after the CDM Max L.L.C natural gas plant had an explosion and fire. State Police say that the fire is under control.
State Police Hazmat crews are still on scene to insure that the grounds around the plant are safe.
One man did sustain burns and has been air lifted to an area hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Evacuation Order Lifted

The evacuation order has been lifted in Acadia Parish following a gas plant explosion there. The Sheriff's Office says only the gravel portion of Fournerat Road will be closed, but residents will still be allowed to pass through to get home.

CDM Max LLC is the gas plant where an explosion and fire happened minutes ago between Basile and Eunice. Residents within a mile of 4905 Fournerat Rd. must evacuate, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Maxine Trahan. State police are not ruling out injuries.

There's been an explosion at a gas plant in the Basile area. The plant is located at Refinery Rd. and Fournerat Rd. Injuries are unknown. The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is heading to the scene and KATC has a crew on the way.
