    Maurice Man Indicted on Sex Charges

    A Vermilion Parish grand jury has indicted a Maurice man on a number of sex charges involving children. Bruce Vincent, 47, is charged with aggravated rape, oral sexual battery, indecent behavior with a juvenile, two counts of child molestation, and three counts of sexual battery. According to grand jury documents, the incidents took place between 2000 and 2012. If convicted, Vincent could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

    Vermilion Shooting Victim Identified

    The victim in a Saturday shooting in Vermilion Parish has been identified. The Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Whitney Allen, Jr., was found Saturday in a car in a field off Perkins Road with a gunshot wound to his head. Deputies say they are still working this case as a homicide. If you have any information about this death, call the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office at 898-4402.
