A Breaux Bridge man is wanted for trying to shoot two people, according to Breaux Bridge Assistant Police Chief Terry Latiolais. Raphael Nadie, 21, is accused of firing the shots today in the 900 block of Landry Street. Nadie is wanted for two counts of attempted second degree murder.

St. Martinville police are investigating a burglary at a local school. According to St. Parish Schools Superintendent Richard Lavergne, someone broke into the St. Martinville Early Learning Center Saturday morning around 4:30 and stole five digital cameras, two i-Pads, and a laptop computer. (More)

A traffic stop in Broussard Wednesday led to a drug bust and the arrest of a Ferriday attempted murder suspect. Police say they pulled over 41-year-old George Green on US 90 for a traffic violation. During the stop, an officer smelled marijuana. A search turned up $360 worth of weed. According to the Concordia Parish Clerk of Court's Office, Green failed to appear for his 2009 trial on an attempted second-degree murder charge. He is being held in the St. Martin Parish Jail.

The U. S. Marshals Service and Lafayette police have arrested a man wanted in Breaux Bridge on sex charges. Dustin Wiltz is charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile. Breaux Bridge police say Wiltz had been on the run since March 15. Deputy marshals tracked him down today to a house in the 100 block of Irma Street where he was taken into custody.

A Cecilia graveyard has been hit by thieves who took plaques from the tombs of veterans. Earlier this week, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office took over the investigation into the thefts at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. Deputies say the thefts were not confined to one part of the graveyard. Anyone with any information about these thefts is asked to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-394-3071.
