Thursday night Eunice police arrested four people accused of shoplifting at Walmart. Altogether, they allegedly stole nearly $384 in merchandise. Kayla Leday is charged with Driving under suspension, Theft by shoplifting, Laquanna Leday is charged with Theft by shoplifting, Latoya Leday is charged with principal to theft by shoplifting, Keyloa Leday is charged with Theft by shoplifting.

More police officers will be patrolling the streets of Opelousas following a decision made at Tuesday's Board of Aldermen meeting. Police Chief Perry Gallow says the board approved his request to create a corrections division in his department. This, he says, will give him a four-person staff to oversee the jail, allowing him to put two more officers on patrol. Gallow says he is also waiting on board approval to fill vacancies on the police force.
