Voters to Decide on Property Tax to Support Basile High

In Acadia and Evangeline Parishes, voters will decide whether to renew a 10-year property tax to fund the Basile High School Athletic Department.

Police Looking for Clues into Pressure Cooker Bomb Threat

The search is on for whoever threatened to blow up Broussard Middle School using a pressure cooker bomb.

The campus is on South Morgan Street off the Amabassador Caffery Extension. Around 9:30 Thursday morning, Broussard Police evacuated students to a nearby church.

Grand Jury Indicts Lafayette Man in MLK Day Murder

A Lafayette Grand Jury has indicted Jacob Ardoin (pictured) on one count of second-degree murder for a shooting on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Investigators say Ardoin shot and killed Jordan Melancon, 20, on Hilda Street just yards away from a celebration to commemorate Dr. King.

Melancon left behind two children; an 18-month and 4-month old child.

Hunter Hayes Returns To Acadiana
