A Lafayette man is charged with being a principal to attempted second-degree murder in connection with a Sunday night shooting. Lensly Johnnie is free on $250,000 bond. Investigators say Johnnie took part and/or had knowledge of the incident, in which 21-year-old Joshua Damond fired several shots at a man sitting in his vehicle. The victim was not struck.
Damond was arrested Tuesday and is free on bond.

In about six weeks, the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana will merge with the Acadiana Center for the Arts. PASA will still bring top-notch shows to the Heymann Performing Arts Center. PASA employees will now be housed at the AcA.
The merger, according to AcA Executive Director Gerd Wuestemann, will "create better programming, to better serve the community."
The merger will be official July 1.

Lafayette Police Lieutenant Ricky Rees was laid to rest today.
He died Saturday after a motorcycle crash in Iberville Parish. He was a 23 year veteran of the Lafayette Police Department and leaves behind two teenage children.
