The Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeals has denied an appeal filed by Brandon Scott Lavergne. The court ruled that the appeal was improperly filed. This is the second Lavergne appeal denied by the court. The Third Circuit Court last month shot down an appeal claiming the court was in error by denying a motion for discovery.

A suspect wanted in connection with an April shooting in Lafayette in now behind bars. Leonard Perro is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Lafayette police say Perro shot at a man near a home in the 100 block of Tyrona Drive following a domestic disturbance with his ex-spouse. Perro was arrested by U. S. Marshals near Dallas earlier this month and has been returned to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
