Lewis Street Closure set for May 1

Iberia Parish Government would like to announce that Lewis Street will be closed between the Highway 90 Frontage Road and David Duboin Road beginning on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 for work in conjunction with the David Duboin Road over Commercial Canal bridge replacement project.

New Iberia native to announce first round NFL draft pick

A New Iberia teen is set to announce a first round NFL draft pick. Markell Gregoire, a patient at Memphis' St. Jude's Research Hospital, will join NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in New York to announce a pick during the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
The draft will air on the NFL Network and ESPN on Thursday, Apr. 25, at 7 pm.

Marrero man identified in New Iberia fatal crash

The man who died in a crash in New Iberia Friday morning is identified as 19-year-old Jacinto Leopoldo Flores- Rodriguez of Marrero. According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, Flores-Rodriguez's car went into a canal and flipped. The crash happened around 6:00 Friday morning at South Lewis St. and Kingdom Circle near the Port of Iberia.
