Fire Station Reopens in New Iberia

A fire station in Iberia Parish will re-open after being closed for the last two days. The city says this all boils down to a funding issue.
But residents, like Bernie Lemaire, have been concerned. He's lived along Weeks street, and across the street from the fire station for 25 years. (More) • Video (1)

The New Iberia teen reported missing has been located without incident. Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office reported Aries Antoine ran away from home on June 7, 2013, without her mother's permission.

New Iberia to conduct smoke testing of sewers

New Iberia public works crews will be conducting smoke testing of sewers next week. The tests will be conducted in the 700 to 900 blocks of Yvonne Street, the 1000 and 1100 blocks of Wallace Street, the 1600 block of Emily Street, and the 1600 block of Zez Street. Residents are reminded that the smoke is not toxic and is not a fire hazard.

Woman found dead in street identified

The identity of the woman whose body was found Monday in a New Iberia street has been released. The Iberia Parish Coroner's Office say 57-year-old Carolyn Pradia died of blunt force injuries.
