The three-month-old and 37-year-old man had minor injuries and were treated and released from the hospital. The man accused of crashing into them is still in the hospital but will be soon be released.
Dwayne Shaw will then be the sheriff's office custody and booked into jail. Many Facebook followers have questioned why wasn't Shaw charged with attempted murder. His current charges were determined after investigating deputies consulted with the district attorney.

A New Iberia man is accused of trying to kill himself by intentionally driving into oncoming traffic. The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office says Dwayne P. Shaw, 48, crashed into a vehicle carrying a three-month-old baby and a 37-year-old man.

An Abbeville man is charged in Iberia Parish with gross littering and simple criminal damage to property after he allegedly dumped truck tires on farm property. Sheriff's deputies say 33-year-old Jerome Mitchell left 17 large truck tires on property belonging to Sqare B Farms, damaging the land in the process. Mitchell's bond has not been set.

A shooting last night at a New Iberia nightclub has left one person injured. Sheriff's deputies say four black men all dressed in black went inside the Hopkins Street establishment, held up patrons at gunpoint, and demanded money. One person inside the club was shot in the leg. The victim's condition is unknown. If you have any information about this case, call the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office at 369-3714.

A child is in critical condition after the car she was riding in slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler on US 90. State troopers say the 18-wheeler slowed down at the railroad tracks on US 90 at the railroad tracks near LA 85. Troopers add the child was not properly restrained and was wearing only a lap belt. The child has been transported to a nearby hospital.

A child is in critical condition following a mulit-vehicle crash on US 90 in Iberia Parish. The accident took place around 10:00 this morning near US 90's intersection with LA 85. State troopers say the child, whose age is not known at this time, was transported to an area hospital. No other injuries have been reported yet.
