    State Police Lake Charles Troop D collects most drugs on take-back day

    Louisiana State Police Troop D in Lake Charles collected hundreds of pounds of drugs during National Drug Take-Back Day. The goal of the program is to offer people a safe way to dispose of prescription medications. "We collected 262 pounds of unwanted drugs," Sgt. James Anderson. Troop D collected more drugs than any other troop in the state, including New Orleans, Shreveport, and Baton Rouge.

    Missing Westlake Woman Found in Lafayette

    An elderly Westlake woman who went missing Thursday has been found safe in Lafayette. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Office began looking for 95-year-old Ollie McGuire in the afternoon. Lafayette Parish sheriff's deputies found her around 10:00 P. M. after her car ran out of gas. Officials say she wound up in the Hub City because "she got lost."
