For some of you living in Acadia Parish, it's mystery solved. Some have been asking KATC about mysterious, loud "booms" heard over the weekend. So what's to blame?

Registration and orientation for GED classes at two of SLCC's campuses will be held in April. Registration will be held at the Acadian Campus in Crowley on April 22, and at the Gulf Area Campus in Abbeville on April 23. Both will start at 8 a.m. but students are asked to arrive at 7:45 a.m.

Deputies have recovered two 4 wheelers stolen from an Iota family the night before Good Friday. Mud riding is a Thibodeaux family hobby, and they discovered the ATVs gone when they woke up for their ride, which has become a Good Friday tradition.

Some residents in Acadia Parish are upset that their homeowners insurance has gone up due to a decline in a fire protection class code. The cost of homeowners insurance is affected by the rating of a fire district, and fire district 5 recieved the worst rating possible last year. (More)
