In Acadia and Evangeline Parishes, voters will decide whether to renew a 10-year property tax to fund the Basile High School Athletic Department.

Two Acadia Parish men accused of trying to sell stolen oilfield equipment have been arrested. Lafayette Parish sheriff's deputies say 28-year-old Cody Monceaux and 23-year-old Reuben Broussard confessed to stealing the items, which were valued in excess of $37,000, from various storage yards. They are charged with theft of oil and gas equipment.
