Voters to Decide on Property Tax to Support Basile High

In Acadia and Evangeline Parishes, voters will decide whether to renew a 10-year property tax to fund the Basile High School Athletic Department.
The tax generates roughly 74-thousand dollars for the school. The property tax, enacted nearly thirty years ago, has been renewed three times. (More) • Video (1)

Crowley man pleads guilty in 2011 vehicular homicide case

Tyson Dupuis entered the plea in the 15th District Court in Crowley. Judge Ed Rubin ruled that Dupuis can remain free on bond while a pre-sentencing investigation is completed.

Crowley police make drug arrest

Pair Charged with Stealing Oilfield Equipment

Two Acadia Parish men accused of trying to sell stolen oilfield equipment have been arrested. Lafayette Parish sheriff's deputies say 28-year-old Cody Monceaux and 23-year-old Reuben Broussard confessed to stealing the items, which were valued in excess of $37,000, from various storage yards. They are charged with theft of oil and gas equipment.

KATC is investigating Acadiana's missing people. The oldest case on the books began 21 years ago when Donna Gonzales went missing. Since then her family has been struggling with many unanswered questions.
