    A man has been arrested for firing a gun about a block from Berwick Elementary, Chief James Richard said.  Just before 3 p.m., dismissal time for the school, witnesses called police to report that a man walked out of the back door of his home and fired a gun. No one was injured, the chief said.  Police immediately called the school and placed it on lockdown as a precaution, he said.
