    Lafayette voters can expect to see at least three parish-wide tax proposals on the ballot in the November election. Two of the propositions would create new property taxes, one to fund the district attorney's office and another to fund the district court, the third would increase the property tax collected for the parish jail's maintenance.

    A 25-year-old Lake Charles man wanted for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in metal products is now in jail. Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to Hwy 3059 last week in reference to a burglary, according to Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey.
